Getting to Know Faygo

Faygo Beverages, Inc., is a soft drink company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. The beverages produced by the company, branded as Faygo or Faygo Pop, are distributed in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Central Southern regions of the United States, as well as southern Canada. Faygo is imported in Europe by American Fizz, an official distributor of Faygo. Faygo Beverages, Inc., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Beverage Corporation and started in Detroit, Michigan, in 1907, as Feigenson Brothers Bottling Works.

Sketches and Logo Ideas

Faygo has a giant variety of different flavors, so I wanted to make a logo for them that would represent their creative side.  Due to them having a majority of fruity flavors, I decided to create a logo with a variety of fruits.  I also gave each letter of Faygo the color that corresponded to what fruit they were in front of.

Soda Flavors Design

Another part of this assignment was to choose two of the companies’ main flavors and redesign the look of the soda can for them. I decided to go with Moon Mist and Grape. For the Moon Mist design, I created a moon and a night sky, for the grape design I created a grapevine.

Conclusion

My rebranding of Faygo introduced me to the importance of typography and illustration. This was also my first time designing with mockups, which I explored again in my Ancella Pasta Packaging Case Study.
